UFO files opened to the public
Bahrain News.Net Wednesday 14th May, 2008
Secret files about the sighting of Unidentified Flying Objects over Britain have been opened to the public for the first time, arousing the interest of sceptics and believers.
The information, recording among many others a saucer-shaped UFO hovering over Waterloo Bridge in London, is based on details kept by police stations and airbases around the country.
It is being published by the National Archives in Kew, near London, which has kept the information secret for the past 30 years, in line with legislation.
However, the Ministry of Defence in London said it was not investigating the possibility of visitors from outer space making a stop at Earth.
Its main interest lay in checking that UFOs were not in fact signs of earthly covert spying missions by other countries.
Nick Pope, who was responsible for investigating the sightings said: "While there's no evidence of little green men in these files, they should be of immense interest to sceptics and believers."
Most of the UFO sightings were probably misidentifications of aircraft lights and meteors, but some are more difficult to explain, and include UFOs seen by police officers and pilots.
There are also cases where UFOs have been tracked on radar.
Over the next four years more than 150 files will be thrown open.

UFO files opened to the public
I hope the proof of UFO’s existence is made before I die of old age. I don’t like being perceived with skepticism. Back in time, Friday July 19, 1968 to be exact. I was seventeen years of age. My boyfriend at the time, and I were having a bit of a spat. He borrowed his father’s car to pick me up so we could disguss our issue. His father loaned him the car with a curfew attached. We drove to La Salle park on Burlington Bay sometime in the evening. It was dark. We were just sitting there when I noticed 3 huge orange balls in the sky. These orange balls would move rapidly within a certain circumference but go back to their original position. I was blurting out to Bill about them but he was fast asleep. I remember looking at one and thinking “if I can see it, it can see me." The next thing I remember was waking up but I was positioned in the driver’s seat with my back to the door and Bill was sprawled on the passanger seat. I saw the orange balls still but suddenly they took off at such a speed heading west. Bill woke up and started accusing me of doing something to him to make him fall asleep. Worse he was in a panic because he’d gone way past the time he was suppose to have the car home. I was trying to explain to him what I saw in the sky. He said I was saying that just to change the real issue
of me doing something to him. He was very angry and didn’t believe me of course. Nobody believed me. Then I thought, wait a minute that was so noticeable that it would have to be reported to the newspaper. I waited for Monday and sure enough there was the story reported by people (including a cop) on the Hamilton side of the bay who also witnessed it. I have the article. Interestingly, after that event I had a scoop about the size of a dime taken out of my right leg. I never put the two incidents together. The scoop was extemely itchy. It had a purple onion skin covering. At the time I rationalized that this new injury must have been a result of the chicken pocks I had as a very young child and it just decided to act up. I would really love to be vindicated finally!
