Chef Ramsay suffers from business downturn

Bahrain News.Net
Friday 3rd July, 2009

TV Chef Gordon Ramsay has seen profits fall at his UK restaurants.

Ramsay had to inject over three million dollars into the businesses after profits fell by 87% in the last year.

The downturn has been blamed by Ramsay on ambitious expansion plans and the closure of his key London restaurants like The Savoy Grill and the Connaught.

The Savoy Grill was shut when its host hotel decided on a refit, while the Connaught's lease simply expired.

Despite several closures, Ramsay has opened two new restaurants in London in recent months with the Savoy Grill set to re-open in early 2010.

Another of his venues, Petrus, is currently being relocated.
